The Secretary of the Senate is one of four officers in the upper chamber —
the Senate President (Lt. Governor) - opens in a new tab, the
President Pro Tempore - opens in a new tab, and the
Chief Clerk - opens in a new tab.
The Secretary position is elected by the Members of the Senate
at the start of each new two-year legislative term.
The Secretary of the Senate has three important roles: Secretary; Parliamentarian; and Right-to-Know Law Appeals Officer.
